Lake Rabun

A Smart Home That Survives an Empty Month

Smart home work on Lake Rabun is judged in the off season. If the only time the system makes sense is a July weekend, it is the wrong system. Lights need an arrival scene. The network needs to come back after a storm. A leak or a freeze needs to reach your phone while you are in the city.

Lakemont is the community between Lake Rabun and Lake Burton, and we already work there. This page is the Lake Rabun scope. Burton has its own automation page because the properties and the docks are not interchangeable.

The property

House, Dock, Boathouse

Whole-property Wi-Fi is the part people underestimate. The kitchen router does not cover a dock. We mount Starlink where cable never arrived, then extend with wired access points or a point-to-point link to the outbuilding you actually use. Audio follows the same path: Sonos in the house, weather-rated speakers toward the water.

Humidity off the lake and a hard freeze are why outdoor gear is specified for weather and why the rack stays indoors. We will not put the network core in a boathouse.

What else

Theaters and Lighting, Quoted Separately

A theater or a full RadioRA 3 lighting system is custom quoted. A plain TV mount or a small Wi-Fi refresh can be the hourly rate: $149 an hour plus a $50 trip charge. Licensed in Georgia (LVT305289) and North Carolina (SP.FA/LV.37584).

FAQs

Questions from Lake Rabun, GA Homeowners

Lake Rabun overview · Lake Burton automation · Lakemont

What do you mean by a smart home on Lake Rabun?
A short system: Lutron lighting, Sonos audio, a network that reaches the dock, and cameras with flood and freeze alerts. Not a pile of apps you will not open in November.
Can I see the house from Atlanta?
Yes. Camera, doorbell, leak, temperature and power alerts go to your phone. Network Care can watch the Wi-Fi between visits for $24.99 a month on a home plan.
Do you wire new houses on the lake?
Yes, and the right time is before drywall. We also work on houses that are already finished. A Rabun County new-build prewire near Clayton shows the kind of scope. That project is not on Lake Rabun.
Who do I call?
Call Ryan at (706) 982-3327, Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM.

Type of work
Project photos (optional, but they help a lot)

Photos help us a lot. If you want the fastest, most accurate quote, send photos of the spaces or equipment you're asking about: the room, the wall where the TV goes, your current rack or router, the outside of the house.

Up to 15 photos, 25 MB each. iPhone (HEIC) photos are fine.

    Floor plans (optional)

If you have floor plans, send them. Plans let us do much more, and they often give us a near-instant idea of scope. Large files are fine.
