A Real Home Hub
Apple Home needs an Apple TV or a HomePod as the home hub. In a theater or at the rack, we put that hub on a wire so the house is not depending on the weakest Wi-Fi corner.
Lutron, Still on the Wall
We install Lutron for the lights and the shades. Those scenes show up in Apple Home. The keypad in the room still works when the phone is downstairs.
A Screen Where the Household Actually Stands
Apple HomeView is the wall screen for a kitchen or an entry. While the walls are open we leave backing, power, and a network cable. How it mounts is on our HomeView page.
A Short List, On Purpose
We do not add a second control system on top of Apple's. The house stays on Lutron, Sonos, Ring, eero, and Apple Home for the view the family already knows.

Who sets up Apple Home?
SoulCraft plans the hub, the network, and the Lutron lights and shades that show up in the Apple Home app.
Does an iPad still count as the hub?
No. Current Apple Home needs an Apple TV or a HomePod as the home hub.
Can Lutron run if Apple Home is unhappy?
Yes. The Lutron keypad and dimmers keep working on their own.
What should we wire for a wall screen?
Backing, power, and a network cable at the spot. The HomeView page has the mount details.
