In Highlands and Cashiers, "home automation" should be a short list. Lights you can shut off when you leave. Shades if the glass needs them. Wi-Fi that reaches the guest cottage. Cameras and a leak or temperature alert on your phone. Music if you want it. We do not lock a mountain house to one dealer platform you cannot service in five years. SoulCraft uses Lutron, Sonos, Ring, and eero or a wired network, each of which still works if the others do not.

Highlands

Rock, trees, and a cottage cut into the hill. The network is the hard part. Lighting is the part you touch every evening you are there. See home automation in Highlands, Highlands Wi-Fi, and Highlands lighting. The town page is Highlands.

Cashiers

Longer drives, a barn or guest house, Jackson County lots that spread out. The same products, a different site plan. See home automation in Cashiers, Cashiers Wi-Fi, and Cashiers lighting.

While the house is closed

Network Care is $24.99 a month for a home. It is remote monitoring and help logging into the network, not a promise that we are in the driveway every weekend. North Carolina license SP.FA/LV.37584. Georgia license LVT305289. Ryan's number is (706) 982-3327.

If the mountain house also has a theater, start with Highlands home theater or Cashiers home theater, and read what drives the cost. Lake houses are a separate guide: lake house Wi-Fi.

FAQs

Mountain automation questions

Do you install one system that runs everything?
No. We use separate, proven products: Lutron for lights and shades, Sonos for music, Ring for cameras, and a real network under them. If one app is down, the others still work, and another company can still service them.
Is Highlands the same job as Cashiers?
The products overlap. The sites do not. Highlands is steeper and rockier. Cashiers lots are longer, with outbuildings farther from the router.
Can you work on a house we only use part of the year?
That is most of this work. The system has to come back after weeks of sitting, and you need a way to check it from Atlanta.

FAQs

Questions from Highlands, NC Homeowners

Highlands overview · Home automation · Lighting · Theater design

Do you install home theaters in Highlands, NC?
Yes. We design and install dedicated theaters and media rooms in Highlands. The project is custom quoted after we walk the house. We do not publish a price range.
Where does the equipment go?
In a dry, conditioned closet. Highlands houses deal with damp summers and cold winters, and many sit empty. An unheated crawl space is a bad place for a rack.
Is a TV mount the same thing?
No. A straightforward TV installation is a service call at $149 an hour plus a $50 trip charge, and a typical mount takes one to two hours. A theater or a media room is a larger, custom-quoted project.
Who do I call?
Call Ryan at (706) 982-3327, Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM.

Add project details (optional)
Type of work
Project photos (optional, but they help a lot)

Photos help us a lot. If you want the fastest, most accurate quote, send photos of the spaces or equipment you're asking about: the room, the wall where the TV goes, your current rack or router, the outside of the house.

Up to 15 photos, 25 MB each. iPhone (HEIC) photos are fine.

    Floor plans (optional)

If you have floor plans, send them. Plans let us do much more, and they often give us a near-instant idea of scope. Large files are fine.
